Bend Elks News Release
The Elks scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning and never looked back on Tuesday at Vince Genna Stadium, defeating the Walnut Creek Crawdads 8-4 in non-league action.
It was an interesting night as brothers Patrick and John Keane squared off for the Bend Elks and Walnut Creek Crawdads, respectively, and Patrick would come off on top. Patrick would end up pitching 4 innings, surrendering 4 runs on 7 hits while walking one and striking out 4 before being removed for reaching his pitch count for the day.
Offensively for the Elks, Nick Wagner from the University of Oregon was the leader as he went 3-4 on the game, reaching base 4 times, and driving in a run for the Elks. Jordan Copeland, Darian Ramage, Zane Yanzick, and Grant Newton would also add 2 hits each for Bend, who will return to face Walnut Creek in non-league action Wednesday before returning to league action Thursday against the Bellingham Bells.
First pitch Wednesday set for 6:35 p.m.
