Kelowna, BC: The Kelowna Falcons ran their winning streak to five straight after a 9-5 win over the visiting Klamath Falls Gems.

The Falcons would jump out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning after Jerry McClanahan hit his fourth homerun of the year.

The lead became 2-0 after the second inning when Patrick Johnson brought in Jonathan Munoz on a ground out.

The Gems would come right back in the fourth inning by scoring four times on the strength of a two out, two run double by Josh Wong.

The lead was short lived as the Falcons would score a pair of runs in their next two at bats to tie the game at four. Brock Slavin would double to bring in Andrew Frith, who also doubled in the inning.

The Falcons would then put the game away in the sixth by scoring three runs highlighted by a Kyle Moses solo homerun. The homer would add to the Falcons team total of 17, which leads the West Coast League.

The home side would add two more in the eighth to claim their 18th win of year.

Cord Cockrill would throw six complete innings and allow four runs on four hits while striking out three. Cockrill bumps his record to 5-1.

The Falcons (18-10) will host the Gems (9-19) again in Tuesday night; first pitch at 6:35pm.
