Bend Elks News Release
The Bend Elks defeated Top Speed Baseball in non-league action on Tuesday night by a score of 6-1.
Bo Walter once again did his part in helping the Elks snap a 3 game losing streak by going 2-3 on the night, scoring three of the Elks 6 runs. Kyle Gallegos went 2-4 with 2 doubles in helping the Elks distance themselves early against their non-league opponent.
Patrick Keane got the start for the Elks and had a quality outing, as he retired the first 11 batters that he faced. He ended up pitching 4 and 2/3 innings, giving one run on 2 hits while striking out two and issuing no free passes. Keane did not get the win as he did not last the 5 innings, so the win was earned by David Birosak, who went 1 and 1/3 innings in relief, retiring all four of the hitters he faced in getting the victory.
The Elks play a double-header tomorrow from Vince Genna Stadium, game 1 of the Double Header against Top Speed with action at 1:05 p.m., game 2 will begin a 3 game series with the Kitsap Blue Jackets, action starting at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday is Free Kids Wednesday, sponsored by Premier West Bank, so all kids 12 and under will receive free admission to the ballpark.
