
Black Bears Fall Late at Home

Longview: June 19, 2012: Aided by seven runs in the seventh and eighth innings combined, the Corvallis Knights defeated the Cowlitz Black Bears 11-5 on Tuesday evening at Story Field.
It was a back-and-forth affair in the first six innings, with the Black Bears taking a 4-3 lead on an Austin Diemer (Cal State Fullerton) RBI single. Derrick Salberg (Lower Columbia) had two RBI's and Scott Harkin (Loyola Marymount) had a run-scoring hit of his own.
Diemer paced the Black Bears with four base hits, coming a home run away from the cycle. Ben Swinford (Cornell), Brian Frattali (U of Portland), and Justin Hazard (UCLA) each had two hits.
The Black Bears next home game is against the Corvallis Knights on Tuesday, June 20 and it will be Burgerville Family Night. Four general admission tickets, four sodas, and four hot dogs can be purchased for only $32.00 (extra tickets $4.00/extra package tickets $8.00). It is also Longview Schools Spirit Night.
