Edmonton Elks News Release

EDMONTON - The Edmonton Elks have added to their quarterback stable, as the club announced Tuesday the acquisition of Nick Arbuckle from the Toronto Argonauts.

Edmonton receives the CFL pivot in exchange for a conditional third-round pick in the 2022 CFL Draft, along with the rights to Elks negotiation list player Chad Kelly (QB). If Arbuckle - who inked a one-year deal in Toronto in February - re-signs in Edmonton for the 2022 CFL season, the Argos pick becomes a second rounder.

Originally signed by the Calgary Stampeders out of Georgia State in 2017, Arbuckle has played in 43 career CFL regular season games, completing 287 of his 416 attempts, with 17 touchdowns and 11 picks.

The Oxnard, California product signed with the Argos earlier this year and appeared in seven games for the Boatmen, going 96-of-153 for 1,158 yards, with five TDs and six picks.

Prior to his CFL career, Arbuckle was a record-setting quarterback at Georgia State from 2014-15. During his senior season, Arbuckle set single-season school records for completions (307), touchdown passes (28), total offence (4,273) and total touchdowns scored (34).
