
Eleven Royals Head to AHL Training Camps

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that eleven players under ECHL contract with Reading will participate in AHL training camps. The six forwards and five defensemen will head to camp with five different teams, including the Bears, Worcester Sharks, Manchester Monarchs, Bridgeport Sound Tigers, and Rockford IceHogs.
The Royals will send five different players to Hershey's training camp, including forwards David Marshall and Domenic Manardo and defensemen Mike Banwell, Ryan Kavanagh and Bryant Molle. For Monardo, this will be his fourth camp of the off-season, as he has attended NHL Development Camp, Rookie Camp and Training Camp with the Washington Capitals.
Forwards Louie Caporusso and Marc Zanette will attend training camp with Worcester, while forward Ian O'Connor and defenseman Matt Campanale will participate in Manchester's camp. Forward Sean Wiles will be in the pre-season camp with Bridgeport, while Bobby Shea, who has attended NHL Rookie Camp and Training Camp with the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks, will participate in AHL camp with the Blackhawks' affiliate in Rockford.
The Royals kick off the defense of the team's 2013 Kelly Cup Championship on Saturday, October 19, 2013, (7:35 pm), at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania, with the 2013-14 season opener against the South Carolina Stingrays. The Royals also face the Stingrays on Sunday, October 20 (4:05 pm) in Game Two of Opening Weekend. Season Tickets for the 2013-14 Reading Royals are currently available.
