
El Paso Locomotive Re-Signs Local Goalkeeper Marco Canales

EL PASO, Texas - El Paso Locomotive signed El Paso native Goalkeeper Marco Canales for the remainder of the 2022 USL Championship season, the club announced today. Details of the signing have not been made public per Club policy and is pending league and federation approval.
"Marco has been training with us all season and has had very good growth in training," commented John Hutchinson, Locomotive Head coach and Technical Director. "We added Marco to the squad to help with the depth of the goalkeepers till the end of the season. He has shown great character in training and we will be looking for that to continue."
Canales, 20, rejoins El Paso Locomotive FC having previously signed with the club on loan from FC Juarez Bravos in April of the 2021 season. Throughout the 2021 season, Canales trained with Locomotive Goalkeeper coach JC Garzon, gaining experience with the Locomotive environment. An El Paso native, Canales graduated from Cathedral High School before joining FC Juarez. While with Locomotive's sister club, Canales helped lead the Bravos third division affiliate to an unprecedented win streak and a championship run.

Locomotive will return to Southwest University Park to host Landon Donovan and his San Diego Loyal on Saturday, August 20 at 7:30 p.m. MT.
