GREENVILLE, SC -The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that professional recording artist Edwin McCain will perform the "Star Spangled Banner" at their Teddy Bear Toss game this Friday against Gwinnett.

A native of Greenville, McCain released his first major-label recording called "Honor Among Thieves" on Lava/Atlantic records in 1995, and put forth his most recent effort, a career-retrospective "The Best of Edwin McCain," on Saguaro Road Records in 2010. His single, "I'll Be" was a major hit in the United States and reached Number Five on the charts in 1998. McCain has also had the singles "I Could Not Ask for More" and "Hearts Fall" chart in the U.S. McCain also helped to found Euphoria Greenville, a popular food, wine, and music festival, in 2006.

"We are thrilled to have Edwin McCain perform the National Anthem at our game against Gwinnett this Friday. It's a already a hugely exciting night with our inaugural Teddy Bear Toss taking place, and Edwin's performance only adds to that," said Road Warriors president and general manager Neil Smith.

Fans attending Friday's game are asked to bring a new, or gently used, unwrapped stuffed animal to take part in the Road Warriors' first-ever Teddy Bear Toss. After the Road Warriors score their first goal fans get to throw their toys out onto the ice! Every teddy bear that is tossed will be collected and donated to WSSL-FM's annual Toys For Tots drive.

There is great group seating available for Friday's game, as well. Your group of 10 or more is eligible for discounted tickets, preferred seating based on availability, and other great benefits by booking in advance. You can reach a Road Warriors group sales representative by calling 864-674-PUCK between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
