
Salmon Kings Add Tim Kraus

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they have signed forward Tim Kraus for the 2010-11 season.
The 23-year-old Kraus joins the Salmon Kings after beginning the year with the Ontario Reign. In 16 games with the Reign he tallied six assists and 10 minutes in penalties.
Kraus also spent the previous two seasons in Ontario, where he began his professional career totaling 101 points (31g-70a) and 146 penalty minutes across 143 contests. In both season, Kraus led all Reign skaters in assists, and finished the 2008-09 campaign in a three-way tie for the team's scoring lead (48). The forward has also dressed for seven Kelly Cup Playoff contests in Ontario, scoring five goals and two assists for seven points to go along with eight penalty minutes.
The native of Garden Grove, CA spent the majority of a five-year junior career (2003-04 thru 2007-08) in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Vancouver Giants. During his time in the lower mainland he accrued 167 points (60g-107a) and 216 minutes in penalties over 244 appearances. Kraus also amassed 21 points (7g-14a) and 49 penalty minutes in 48 career WHL Playoff games with the Giants, which included the 2005-06 WHL Championship title. Kraus also helped lead Vancouver to a Canadian Hockey League (CHL) Memorial Cup victory in 2006-07, notching four penalty minutes in three tournament contests.
The 6-0, 185 lb Kraus finished his junior career in the 2007-08 season with 62 games as a member of the WHL's Regina Pats. In 62 games played that year he recorded 15 goals and 44 assists for 59 points while serving 86 penalty minutes.
The Salmon Kings are in Idaho for a two-game starting tonight (6:15 PT) versus the Steelheads.
