GREENVILLE, SC - The Florida Everblades (17-11-0) picked up their sixth straight win on the road with an impressive 5-1 victory over the Greenville Road Warriors (18-6-2) on Wednesday night at the BI-LO Center behind a pair of Mitch Fadden goals and 27 saves from Bobby Goepfert.

The Everblades put together a solid first period tallying three times in the opening 20 minutes. The Road Warriors opened the game's scoring at 1:48 on Brandon Wong's seventh goal of the season after taking a pass at the right post from behind that net that he was able to lift past a scrambling Goepfert.

The Everblades however answered with the next three goals. The first came at 3:06 on Mitch Fadden's first goal of the night. The entire line chipped in on the tally as Ross Carlson worked the puck from behind the net to Francis Lemieux at the bottom of the left circle. Lemieux then rifled a pass to Fadden in the slot where he one-timed a shot past Greenville net-minder Dov Grumet-Morris.

Alex Imbeault gave the Blades the lead at 13:43 after completing a nice up-ice rush. Mike McKenzie brought the puck out of defensive zone and through the neutral zone before dishing a pass off the Imbeault who snapped a quick shot past Grumet-Morris for his league-leading 15th goal of the season.

The Everblades extended their lead to two before the first period closed on a Fadden breakaway at the 15 minute mark. Off assists from Carlson and Phil Paquet Fadden raced in untouched on Grumet-Morris before slipping a shot between his pads for his 12th goal of the year.

The game remained a 3-1 Florida lead through most of the second period, but in the final two minutes, the Everblades struck for two quick goals to take a 5-1 lead into the second intermission. The first of the tallies came with the Everblades on the power play and saw Lemieux pick up a loose puck at the top of the Greenville crease before chopping it home for his 11th goal of the year at 18:34. Fadden and Ethan Graham assisted on the marker.

Just 20 seconds later Cedric McNicoll set up Mathieu Roy for his seventh goal of the season. McNicoll skated the puck into the offensive zone down the right side boards and after getting a step on the defender, found Roy streaking to the front of the net with a perfect pass which Roy one-timed home at 18:54.

The Everblades played a solid third period, limiting Greenville to just eight shots, and killing off two power play opportunities to preserve the win.

In goal Goepfert collected the win turning away 27 of 28 shots to improve his record to 10-6-0, while Grumet-Morris allowed the five goals on 23 shots and saw his record fall to 10-3-1.

On the power play, the Everblades finished the game 1-of-5 while Greenville closed out the night 0-of-4.

The win improved Florida's record to 3-6-0 vs. Greenville this season.
