Edwards and Fountain to Compete in All-Star Classic Skills Competition

Anderson, IN (January 29, 2007) - The CBA announced today that Indiana Alley Cats guard Carl Edwards will participate in this year's All-Star Slam Dunk contest, while guard Shaun Fountain will participate in the Long Distance Shootout. These contests will take place prior to the All-Star game in Butte, Montana on February 6th. Both players will also take part in the All-Star game.
Edwards is a high-flying guard for the Alley Cats who will have a great chance to win the contest. He has amazing leaping ability, which will definitely allow him to try some creative dunks. Carl is averaging 20.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game this season. He is currently fourth in the league in scoring. Not only can Edwards play his game above the rim, but he is also able to create his own shot and knock down the open jumper.
Fountain has made the most three-pointers on the Alley Cats squad this season. He can flat out stroke it from beyond the arc. Shaun is averaging 23.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 2.8 steals per game. He is currently second in the CBA in scoring, second in steals, and third in assists. Fountain won the CBA Player of the Week this season for the week of January 2nd - 7th. He has been one of the Alley Cats most productive players this season.
The Alleys Cats are in Great Falls to begin a four game road trip. They are set to play the Explorers tomorrow night at 9:05 EST.
