
Edmund Saunders Returns to the New Jersey SkyCats

Mahwah, NJâFebruary 5, 2005âUConn's Edmund Saunders returns to the SkyCats after playing for a month in Asia. The 6'8 Saunders will once again don the SkyCat red and white later this month.
Saunders who began the season with the SkyCats was temporarily released to play for a month in Asia where he filled in for an injured player on a team in Korea. In signing to Korea he was able to gain international exposure and enhance his skills.
Earlier in the season as a SkyCat Saunders led the team in scoring and was also one of the leading scorers in the division. He returns to the US to finish out his contract with the SkyCats. Saunders who was an NCAA Champion while at the University of Connecticut will be greatly welcomed back by the team who is now 12-8. "We are glad he was able to gain exposure for himself but we are happy to have him back with the team" says SkyCat's owner Ron Eford.
