- Gwinnett won 4-1 against Charlotte on Thursday to lead the series 2-0.
- Charlotte out shot Gwinnett 23-14 in the third period of the first two games.
- Brad Schell and Jeff Campbell each recorded three assists in Game 2 for the Gladiators against Charlotte.
- Justin Maiser scored a goal in Game 2 for the Checkers on Thursday against Gwinnett.
- Game 4, if necessary, is Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Extreme Ice Center in Indian Trail, N.C.
