ECHL Announces Fines, Suspension

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Tuesday announced the following fines and suspension.

Chicago's Tifu fined, suspended

Chicago's Yannick Tifu has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline, as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #137, Cincinnati at Chicago, on Nov. 19.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

Tifu will miss Chicago's game at Reading on Wednesday.

Bakersfield's O'Dette fined

Bakersfield head coach Matt O'Dette has been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions following ECHL Game #138, Bakersfield at Colorado, on Nov. 19, and for published comments made following the game.

O'Dette is fined under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline and under Rule 7(a) - Coaches Conduct, in the ECHL Playing Rules.

Elmira's Harvey fined

Elmira's Kevin Harvey has been fined an undisclosed amount as a result under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline, of his actions in ECHL Game #139, Kalamazoo at Elmira, on Nov. 19.

Harvey was a assessed a major penalty for charging and game misconduct at 11:56 of the first period.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

South Carolina's McEwan fined

South Carolina's James McEwan has been fined an undisclosed amount under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline, as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #146, Gwinnett at South Carolina, on Nov. 20.

McEwan was assessed a major penalty for slashing and a game misconduct at 20:00 of the third period.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
