EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (Friday, October, 22 2004) â The MetroStars will be facing Eastern Conference foe D.C. United this Saturday, October 23 at 7:30 at Giants Stadium in the first round of MLS Cup Playoffs. The 11-12-7 MetroStars finished in third place in the Eastern Conference, two standings points behind D.C. The east-coast rivals have faced off four times this season, with D.C. claiming three victories and the MetroStars one. In the first round, the two teams will be playing in a two game home-and-home aggregate goal series, with the team that tallies the most total goals in the two contests advancing to the next round.
