San Jose Earthquakes News Release

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes (7-8-6; 1.29 PPG) are hosting Los Angeles Football Club (9-7-4; 1.55 PPG) tonight at Earthquakes Stadium in their final home match of the regular season. The match kicks off at 8 p.m. and will be broadcast live on NBC Sports California, KNBR 1050 and 1370 KZSF.

The match was originally scheduled to be played on Sunday, Nov. 1 but was postponed due to three positive cases of COVID-19 within LAFC's player group last week.

The Earthquakes currently hold the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference with two matches remaining. San Jose would clinch a spot in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs tonight if:

1. San Jose Earthquakes win vs. Los Angeles Football Club

2. San Jose Earthquakes tie vs. Los Angeles Football Club AND LA Galaxy lose or tie vs. Seattle Sounders FC

The Earthquakes are 5-2-1 in their last eight matches, including an undefeated 3-0-1 record at home during that span. Only the Portland Timbers (5-1-2) have a better record in their last eight matches than the Quakes.

San Jose is facing LAFC for the third time this season with each team previously earning one victory. Tonight marks the first home match for San Jose vs. LAFC since March 30, 2019, a span of 586 days. Both prior matches this year, as well as their most recent match in 2019, were all played at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles.
