San Jose Earthquakes News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes (3-2-1) face the New York Red Bulls (1-2-3) today at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. The match kicks off at 4:30 p.m. PT and will be streamed globally on Apple TV's MLS Season Pass, as well as on local radio via 810 AM The Spread (English) and 1370 KZSF (Spanish).
The Earthquakes are seeking their first road win of the season after falling to Atlanta United FC (2-1) and St. Louis CITY SC (3-0) so far in 2023. New York has won each of the past four meetings between the two clubs, with San Jose's last victory in the series coming on April 13, 2016. The Quakes have never won at Red Bull Arena in seven prior visits (0-5-2).
The Quakes are led by forward Cristian Espinoza, who currently sits atop the MLS leaderboard in key passes and chances created. Espinoza scored two goals in San Jose's last match, a 2-1 victory over Houston, and was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for his performance.
The Red Bulls have won just one of their six matches so far this season but maintain an unbeaten 1-0-1 record at home. New York has scored four total goals across the six matches, but club-record signing forward Dante Vanzeir has yet to make his first start. The Red Bulls' most recent home match resulted in a 2-1 victory, with Vanzeir scoring a late game-winner vs. Columbus.
