Austin FC News Release
LOS ANGELES - Austin FC fell to a 3-0 defeat to Los Angeles FC on Saturday evening at BMO Stadium.
Austin started the match well. Žan Kolmanič hit the crossbar with a powerful long-range strike in the early moments, and the Verde & Black made it difficult for LAFC to play through their pressure.
The hosts went in front when Dénis Bounga took advantage of a deflection in the 40th-minute. Maxi Urruti nearly found an immediate equalizer for Austin, but his shot was saved by Eldin Jakupovic.
Bouanga then put the match out of reach with two more goals in the second half, both of which were volleyed finishes from inside the box.
Goal-Scoring Summary
LAFC (1-0) - Dénis Bouanga (unassisted) 40'
LAFC (2-0) - Dénis Bouanga (unassisted) 57'
LAFC (3-0) - Dénis Bouanga (assisted by Sergi Palencia, Carlos Vela) 68'
