San Jose Earthquakes News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes are celebrating Women's History Month with health and wellness initiatives aimed at providing free menstrual products to women.
The Quakes have partnered with Aunt Flow , a woman-owned business dedicated to ensuring everyone has access to cost-free menstrual products. The Quakes will install and regularly restock pad and tampon dispensers in all 15 women's and family restrooms at PayPal Park and the adjacent Front Office building. The club will have these available to employees and fans beginning on Saturday, April 2 when the Quakes host Austin FC.
The Earthquakes are the first professional sports team in the Bay Area to partner with Aunt Flow, who also works with organizations such as Google, Netflix, Twitter, Princeton University, the Columbus Crew, and Austin FC, among many others. For every 10 tampons sold, Aunt Flow donates one to an organization that supplies them to individuals in need and has donated more than 1.6 million period products in 2021 alone.
Additionally, the Quakes Foundation held a clothing and feminine hygiene product drive benefitting PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) and HomeFirst Services. The Quakes Foundation received donations of 700 pads, 550 tampons and 350 additional toiletry items, which will be distributed to the two organizations.
