San Jose Earthquakes News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes will host the LA Galaxy in the 101st California Clásico on Saturday, June 29, at Stanford Stadium. The most iconic rivalry in Major League Soccer returns as the club celebrates its 50th Anniversary Weekend in style. The festivities include a pregame Fan Fest, a commemorative halftime ceremony honoring club legends and alumni, and the annual postgame fireworks show. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. PT and will be streamed globally on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
The Earthquakes will dedicate the entire week to celebrating the club's 50th anniversary, with events and activations taking place from Palo Alto to San Jose. The game itself will be highlighted by the biggest alumni reunion in Quakes history where legends past and present will convene on the field at halftime to represent five decades of professional soccer in Northern California. Already confirmed appearances include Mani Hernandez, Johnny Moore, Joe Cannon, Boris Bandov, Dwayne De Rosario, John Doyle, Paul Child, Shea Salinas, Chris Dangerfield, Clarence Goodson, Mark and Buzz Demling, and Milan Mandaric.
Fans will be able to enjoy a pregame Fan Fest featuring a DJ with live music, a variety of food and beverage options, and a youth zone with activations to be announced. Prior to kickoff, all active-duty military members and veterans in attendance will be honored. Spectators will be treated to a flyover appearance and will be on hand to witness the match ball delivered by a skydiving team. At the match's conclusion, the Bay Area's largest fireworks display will commence directly above the stadium.
The annual California Clásico will be played at Stanford Stadium for the 11th time in history since the game first came to The Farm in 2012. Last season, 2023 MLS All-Star Cristian Espinoza scored a last-minute equalizer in the dying minutes with over 42,000 fans in attendance. In all, the Quakes have won five of 10 matches vs. the Galaxy at Stanford (5-2-3), including four come-from-behind victories.
An exclusive presale for Earthquakes Season Ticket Holders will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. PT before tickets are made available to the general public on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 10 a.m. PT. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster.com. Tickets for groups of 10 or more can be purchased by calling the Earthquakes' Front Office at (408) 556-7700.
