Sussex Skyhawks News Release
AUGUSTA, N.J. - The Sussex Skyhawks committed five errors in the first two innings to give the visiting Worcester Tornadoes an early lead as they won 12-6 Sunday afternoon at Skylands Park. Tornadoes starting pitcher Jusef Frias struck out four in five innings en route to his second victory of the season.
Skyhawks starter Justin Knoff had difficulty getting any flow together due to the inconsistent defense and his record dropped to 4-4.
The Tornadoes offensive attack, assisted by the errors, included a season high twenty hits and a home run in the fourth by right fielder Carlos Sosa.
The Skyhawks battled back in the game scoring four runs in the bottom of the sixth, but wasn't enough to overcome the 10-2 deficit. Skyhawks first baseman John Urick was 3 for 3 with 4 RBI's.
The Skyhawks return to action tomorrow in the first of a three game series versus the Quebec Capitales. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. The Tornadoes have an off day tomorrow and will play host to New Hampshire Tuesday at 7:05.
