Salt Lake Bees News Release
The Salt Lake Bees (49-53) snapped a two-game skid Thursday night with a 8-7 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers (61-41). The Bees scored all of their runs in the first three innings of play and held on for the win.
Jake Gatewood went 2-for-4 with a two-RBI home run, Michael Stefanic went 2-for-4 with two RBI, and Dillon Thomas hit a two-RBI home run in his first game back with the Bees. Salt Lake put up 11 hits, breaking the double-digit mark for the first time since July 28.
Oklahoma City got on the board first with a solo home run in the top of the first inning. Thomas answered for the Bees in the bottom of the first with his home run to put Salt Lake up 2-1.
The Bees added two more runs in the second inning, taking advantage of an error and a Michael Stefanic RBI single.
The Dodgers took the lead back in the third inning, scoring four runs after loading the bases up with two outs. Their lead didn't last long however, as the Bees scored four runs of their own in the bottom of the inning. Gatewood hit his home run and Kyle Kasser and Stefanic both hit RBI doubles to make it 8-5 in favor of the home team.
Oklahoma City hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning to bring them within one, but the bullpen combo of Kyle Barraclough and Elvis Peguero closed the door the rest of the way and secured the win.
Game four between Salt Lake and Oklahoma City is set for tomorrow night at 6:35 p.m.
