Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release

YA-BOOM: Over his last 15 games, Yainer Diaz has hit .339 (20x59) with three doubles, six home runs and 15 RBI. Diaz finished July tied for sixth in the PCL with seven home runs. He has a combined 19 home runs on the season, which are tied for sixth of MiLB catchers. Diaz is ranked as the Astros No. 4 prospect, per FanGraphs.

ON THE HUNT: Hunter Brown struck out nine batters through a 5 1/3-inning relief appearance in Thursday's win. It was the longest relief outing from a Space Cowboys pitcher and was one strikeout away from matching his season high. Brown ranks first in the Pacific Coast League with a 2.52 ERA, 115 strikeouts and a .194 opponent's batting average, and is second with a 1.14 WHIP. Brown is rated as the top Astros prospect and the No. 81 prospect in baseball by MLB.com.

PCL HONORS: Peter Solomon on Friday was named the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Month for July. He's the first player from the Space Cowboys to receive PCL Player of Month honors this season. He recorded a 2.30 ERA through his five July appearances, ranking first in the Pacific Coast League. Solomon also recorded a 1.06 WHIP in July, which is third best in the PCL. Solomon on Monday was named the Space Cowboys' July Player of the Month.
