HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Mississippi RiverKings (16-14-2) scored twice in the first period and Peter Di Salvo made 26 saves to make those stand in a 2-1 win over the Huntsville Havoc (5-19-5) Sunday night at the Von Braun Center.

The RiverKings took the lead 2:35 into the first period. Linden Bahm finished off a scramble in front for his third goal in two nights, giving the RiverKings a 1-0 lead. Leo Thomas and Mike Grace were credited with assists on Bahm's seventh goal of the season. The RiverKings doubled their lead 10 minutes later as Matt Whitehead fired a shot from the right circle which beat Kevin Genoe to make it 2-0. Grace and Sean Jones picked up assists.

Huntsville made it a one-goal game with under three minutes left in the first. The Havoc won a battle for the puck in the left corner and it came free along the wall. The shot from there was stopped by Di Salvo, but Nick Metcalfe eventually buried the rebound to make it 2-1.

The Havoc outshot the RiverKings 21-13 over the final two periods, but Di Salvo answered them all, including one on a shorthanded rush from Drew Akins in the second period. The RiverKings held on for a 2-1 win, their third win in three days and their fourth win in a row overall.

Notes: With a goal tonight Linden Bahm has eight points (5g, 3a) in his last six games, leading the team... With two assists Mike Grace recorded his second multi-point game of the season and he has five assists over the last seven games...
