The Marthas Vineyard Sharks (6-12) jumped on the Torrington Titans (7-12) early on their way to a 7-2 win on Wednesday at Vineyard Baseball Park, scoring three runs in the first inning.
The Marthas Vineyard Sharks scored in the first on a two-run single by Dillon Nelson and a wild pitch.
Jake Farrell had two extra-base hits for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. He doubled in the sixth and seventh innings.
Joe King had an impressive outing against the Torrington Titans' lineup. King held the Torrington Titans hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Andrew Misiaszek improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. He allowed two runs over five innings. Misiaszek struck out four, walked two and gave up three hits.
Connor Lewis couldn't get it done on the bump for the Torrington Titans, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
