Martha's Vineyard Sharks News Release
Strong pitching lifted the Martha's Vineyard Sharks to a 7-2 win over the Torrington Titans at Vineyard Baseball Park on Wednesday night. The win snapped a seven game losing streak for the Sharks.
In the first inning, the Sharks loaded the bases before Torrington could record an out, with the Sharks taking a 3-0 lead on a Dillion Nelson (Indian Hills C.C.) single.
The Titans clawed their ways back into the game with two runs in the top of the fifth inning, but Martha's Vineyard responded with a pair of runs in both the sixth and seventh innings. JD Andreessen's (Campbell) scored Jake Ferrell (Northeastern) in the sixth with Alex Lewis (Longwood U) and Ferrell each had an RBI in the seventh.
Andrew Misiaszek (Northeastern) pitched five innings, allowing just two runs to pick up his first win of the year. Ricky Dennis (Monmouth U) and Joe King (Youngstown State) each threw two scoreless innings to close the game out.
After two road games, the Sharks will return home for a 7:00 pm game against the Brockton Rox on Saturday, June 25th.
