Eagles Host Harrisburg Saturday Night

The Eagles are hoping to get back to their winning ways, after a three-game winless drought, this Saturday, June 5 against the Harrisburg City Islanders at Charlotte Christian Stadium at 7:00 PM. The Eagles are 3-3-2 so far this season while the Islanders are 1-4-2.
The Eagles will face the Islanders for the second week in a row and for the third time this season. Last Saturday, the match ended scoreless for both teams but was filled with numerous opportunities. The Eagles had seven total shots to the Islanders' twelve. Both Vince Petrasso (M) and Sheanon Williams (F) had three shots for Harrisburg. Despite scoring two goals the previous week to hand Charleston its first loss, Harrisburg was unable to capitalize on any of its nine corner kicks.
The backline for Charlotte has been tough to beat so far this season. The Eagles have given up only 9 goals on the season which is tied for the lowest in the league. Greg Dalby (D) has been named to the USL-2 Team of the Week 3 times this season while Erik Lefebvre (GK) was able to stop all 8 shots on goal earning his spot on the USL-2 Team of the Week. Debola Ogunseye (F) continues to lead the team offensively with 3 goals while Jorge Herrera (M), Diego Martins (M), and Darren Toby (M) all have 2 assists.
Don't forget the Eagles will play Bolton Wanderers FC on July 14th at Transamerica Field on the campus of UNC Charlotte. Bolton's Stuart Holden (USA), Danny Shittu (Nigeria), and Lee Chung-Yong (South Korea) were all selected to play for their nations at the World Cup. Tickets are on sale now.
