Eagles Fall to Oklahoma City 3-1

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.- The Colorado Eagles lost their second straight game Sunday evening to the Oklahoma City Blazers 3-1at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City. The loss also marked the Eagles third loss in the last four games as Colorado finished their three-game road trip with just one victory. Brent Hughes had Colorado's only goal in the contest just 2:08 into the game, then Sebastien Centomo took over in the Blazers net finishing with 34 saves on 35 shots. Three different Blazers scored as they gained a game on the Eagles in the Northwest Division standings.

Brent Hughes put the Eagles up early in the contest and a two-on-one goal with Ed McGrane. He took a feed from McGrane and beat the goaltender five-hole, Ryan Tobler also assisted on the play. Mike Burgoyne evened the scored at one at the 15:55 mark of the first period on a power play goal. He was assisted by Dallas Flaman. The score stayed tied at one and the shots were even as well at 15 each.

Michel Beausoleil scored the game winning goal at the 2:42 mark of the second period on an assist from Garrett Prosofsky. Later in the period AJ MacLean put the Blazers up two goals when he scored his eighth goal of the season. Oklahoma City out shot the Eagles 15-12 in the period and held on to the 3-1 lead.

No goals were scored and no penalties were called in the third period as the Blazers locked down their defense and beat the Eagles for the first time this season. Final Score: Blazers 3 - Eagles 1
