The Golden Eagles battled the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs on Monday night and fell by a final score of 3-1. Gavin Culpepper (Southeastern Louisiana) got his third win of the season as Jared Dye (ULM) earned his first save of the season.
The Golden Eagles lone run came in the fifth when catcher Jesse Jenner (University of San Diego) scored on a Bryan Ramirez (UTPA) bunt.
Ryan Davis (LeMoyne) was stellar for the Eagles going six strong innings allowing just a run and struck out four. Kevin Cowan (William Paterson) pitched a strong two innings and Matt Eckleman (Saint Louis) pitched a scoreless ninth.
The Golden Eagles are back in action on Thursday when they host a doubleheader with the Cooperstown Hawkeyes. After an off day on Friday they will have another doubleheader at East Field against the Amsterdam Mohawks. Both Game 1's are scheduled to start at 5:05.
