Glens Falls Dragons News Release

Glens Falls, NY: The Albany Dutchmen were on a mission to beat the Golden Eagles twice in two nights, they succeed and came away with a 6-2 victory at East Field.

Spencer Hotaling (Susquehanna) picked up his second win as he pitched 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs on 6 hits while accumulating 3 strikeouts. John Leiter (St. Peter's) got the loss as he worked 4 innings and allowed 3 runs but only 2 being earned on 6 hits and 3 strikeouts.

The Eagles struck first in the bottom of the second as Garrett Bernardo (Anderson) doubled to lead off the inning and was driven in by a Brian Fay (Siena) single up the middle. That proved to be the last rally the Eagles would have until the 6th inning as they couldn't get the key hit.

The Dutchmen scored 5 unanswered runs in the middle innings and it all began in the top of the third when Dave Vaccaro (Radford) doubled to lead off the inning and was chased home on a 2 out RBI single by Cam Miller (Baylor). The Dutchmen would add 2 runs in each the 4th and 6th innings and a solo run to finish the scoring in the 7th.

Dave Vaccaro led the Dutchmen with a 3 for 4 night, driving in 3 runs. Helping him lead the charge was Nick Jewett ( Trinity) who was a perfect 2 for 2 at the dish with an RBI and a run scored.

Garrett Bernardo and Brian Fay tried to put the Golden Eagles on their backs as they each went 2 for 4 with Bernardo scoring both of the Golden Eagles runs in the game, and Fay driving him in once.
