New York City FC News Release
NEW YORK, N.Y. - New York City FC (NYCFC) today announced a new partnership with DUDE Wipes, a disruptor within the men's hygiene industry, to become the Club's official sleeve partner for the 2022 MLS season and beyond. The DUDE Wipes logo will be featured on the right sleeve of both the NYCFC First Team and Academy kits.
Matt Goodman, Chief Commercial Officer and COO at NYCFC, commented: "We are thrilled to welcome DUDE Wipes as our new sleeve partner of New York City Football Club as we look to once again clean up on the pitch following last season's Championship run.
"The brand has seen an incredible trajectory since its founding, becoming one of Shark Tank's most successful companies ever to feature on the popular television show, and we are excited to be a part of its first venture into soccer. The team at DUDE has impressed us not only with its growth, but also its commitment to innovating and challenging their industry."
Alongside today's announcement, the Club and DUDE released a humorous video about the signing of DUDE mascot "El Duderino" as NYCFC's newest First Team player and decision to replace toilet paper from its facilities with DUDE products.
Ryan Meegan, DUDE Co-Founder & Chief Marketing Officer, said: "As avid sports and soccer fans we are thrilled to be partnering with the defending MLS Cup Champions and English Premier League Champions. We look forward to introducing the DUDE brand to the great soccer fans of New York City, Manchester and all over the globe that follow these two great clubs. It's going to be a lot of fun helping NYCFC chase down number 2!"
In addition to becoming NYCFC's official sleeve partner, Club captain and goalkeeper Sean Johnson, the Audi 2021 MLS Cup MVP, will serve as the Club's DUDE Brand Ambassador and will be leading a 'clean sheet campaign' throughout the 2022 season. Additionally, fans will be able to receive DUDE products throughout the season at select First Team and Academy matches, street team initiatives and more.
The partnership will also extend overseas and see DUDE Wipes become an official partner to NYCFC sister club, Manchester City. Through the regional partnership with Man City, DUDE Wipes will feature across a number of the Club's digital and social assets. Additionally, DUDE Wipes will run nationwide promotions to engage with US-based Manchester City Supporters throughout the Premier League season.
