Ozark, MOâ The RiverHawks lost to the Springfield/Ozark Ducks by a final score of 3-1. The Ducks win evened the series at one game a piece with the rubber match being Friday night at 7:15.
Springfield/Ozark scored the first run of the game in the sixth inning on a double by David Fisher.
The RiverHawks tied the game in the top of the eighth inning thanks to a Ryan Larson RBI single.
Springfield/Ozark broke the 1-1 tie in the bottom of the eighth inning when Andrew Ginther had a two RBI hit.
Justin Dowdy started the game pitching seven and one third innings giving up two runs on four hits and striking out eight. Justin Olson took the loss for the RiverHawks.
Randy Vanderplow got the win for Springfield/Ozark in relief.
The RiverHawks wrap up the series with Springfield/Ozark at 7:15 on Friday. The âHawks return home to Marinelli Field on Saturday June 12th against Mid-Missouri. It will be youth baseball glove night sponsored by US Cellular and Y95.
The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 12th season.
