Ducey Named Coach in Expos Organization

Harrisburg, PA- Former Lumberjack Rob Ducey was named batting coach of the Harrisburg (PA) Senators this week by the Montreal Expos. Harrisburg is Montreal's Double-A affiliate in the Eastern League. Ducey played for the Lumberjacks in 2002 following a 13-year major league career.

Ducey made stops in Toronto, California, Texas, Seattle, Philadelphia, and Montreal during his years in the majors, compiling a .242 career average. The Toronto native was originally signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Blue Jays in 1984 and played with many former Lumberjacks including Sandy Guererro, who is now the hitting coach for the Huntsville (AL) Stars, Milwaukee's Double-A affiliate.

Ducey hit .245 in 16 games with the Lumberjacks two seasons ago, before injury ended his season, and he opted to retire.
