Dubuque Fighting Saints Clinch Clark Cup Playoffs Berth for the 11th Consecutive Season

March 31, 2022 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Dubuque Fighting Saints have done it again. For the eleventh consecutive season, the Fighting Saints have clinched a berth in the 2022 Clark Cup Playoffs. The Saints will be looking to capture the sixth Clark Cup in the organization's history dating back to 1980, and the third since the team returned in 2010.

No team comes close to the Saints' unprecedented run of playoff success over the past 12 years. The sole reason it is not 12 consecutive seasons is due to the pandemic-shortened season of 2019-20, where the Fighting Saints technically did not clinch a playoff spot, even though they were comfortably in second place in the Eastern Conference.

The Fighting Saints' last Clark Cup championship came back in the legendary 2012-13 season, where the team captured the Cowbell Cup as regional champion, the Anderson Cup as the regular season's best team, and the Clark Cup as the league champion over the Fargo Force. They will look to reach the Clark Cup Final for the first time since the 2016 Clark Cup Playoffs, where the team ultimately fell to the Tri-City Storm.

Eight games remain in the 2021-22 regular season after tonight's game.
