Indiana Ice News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ice look to begin its weekend home stand with a victory tonight over the Dubuque Saints at Pan Am Pavilion before hosting the Des Moines Buccaneers Sunday afternoon at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Puck drop tonight is set for 7:05 PM while Sunday's matchup is set for 3:05 PM.
Indiana is seeking back-to-back victories after a rollercoaster weekend that saw the Ice defeat the Youngstown Phantoms 3-1 before falling 3-2 to the Omaha Lancers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Saturday night. Goals from Jason Salvaggio, Jacob Pritchard and Joshua Jacobs helped the Ice topple the Phantoms on Friday, but the Lancers put up a strong third period Saturday night to defeat the Ice in a contest that saw goals by Tyler Pham and Scott Conway.
Dubuque (7-0-0) brings the league's only undefeated squad to Pan Am Pavilion on Saturday after a 6-2 victory in Chicago Friday night. Saints goaltender Christian Frey is first in the league with a 1.20 GAA and his .950 save percentage is second in the league. The Ice was winless in four matchups against the Fighting Saints last season.
Sunday's contest against Des Moines (3-4-1) will be the first of the season for the Buccaneers and Ice. Des Moines comes to Indianapolis following wins over Team USA and Tri-City last weekend. Indiana was 1-2-0 against Des Moines last season, capturing a 4-2 victory in their last meeting in early January 2013.
The Ice will host a post-game skate on Sunday at Pan Am Pavilion immediately following the game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Admission is free with a valid game day ticket. Skate rental is not included.
Season and group tickets are now on sale for all 2013-2014 Indiana Ice home games. Flex packages and additional ticket packages are available starting as low as $50. For more information, call the Indiana Ice at (317) 925-4423.
