
Drive Defeats BlueClaws

Greenville Drive News Release
Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive won the first game of the series against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws. The away game ended with a final score of Greenville 9-1.
D.J. Stewart from the BlueClaws was the first batter to hit a single to send a player home. Casey Martin scored a run for Jersey Shore at the bottom of the second.
After four scoreless innings for the Drive, Tyler McDonough led the way at the top of the fifth with an RBI single that put two runs on the board. Ceddanne Rafaela extended their lead when he grounded out to allow Nick Yorke to score a run.
A single from Nicholas Northcut at the top of the sixth sent Matthew Lugo home, making the score Greenville 4-1.
The Drive continued to surpass Jersey Shore when Nick Decker scored a run thanks to a single from Alex Binelas.
Jersey Shore stayed on a dry spell while Greenville scored another run with a hit from Nick Decker at the top of the eighth.
The Drive finished the BlueClaws off at the top of the ninth when they scored three more runs thanks to hits from Ceddanne Rafaela, Alex Binelas, and Gilberto Jimenez.
Greenville continues the series at Jersey Shore tomorrow at 11:05 am.
