
Drillers Winchester named NIFL Defensive Player of the Week

BEAUMONT, TX -- Beaumont Driller linebacker Shane Winchester was named the NIFL Defensive Player of the Week on April 12.
The former Lumberton High School product had a game-high 11.5 tackles, with 2.5 for a loss, and two sacks in the Drillers 52-39 win over Twin City on April 8.
Winchester leads the NIFL in tackles with 35.5 and is tied for first in sacks with 5. He is also fourth in the league in tackles for a loss with 6.
The Pacific South first place Beaumont Drillers (3-1) travel to Casper, Wyoming, to face the Wyoming Calvary on April 14 at 9 p.m. CST.
The Drillers will return to Ford Arena on May 20 to host the Katy Copperheads at 7:05 p.m. At haftime, the team will honor the West Brook Lady Bruin soccer team with several presentations.
