Wichita, KS - The Tulsa Drillers seven-game winning streak ended on Wednesday night at Wichita's Riverfront Stadium. Similar to how the Drillers won the night before, the Wichita Wind Surge used a six-run inning to take a lead. Unlike the previous night, the Drillers could not overcome the deficit as they were held to just four hits in a 7-2 loss.

Despite the defeat, the Drillers maintained their two-game lead in the Texas League North Division as the Arkansas Travelers fell to the Midland RockHounds.

The first of the Drillers four hits came in the second inning on Diego Cartaya's solo home run, his sixth of the season and his third in as many games.

Tulsa's 1-0 lead disappeared with the Wind Surge's six-run third inning. Yoyner Fajardo plated two on an RBI double to left field. A single and a walk loaded the bases for Yunior Severino, who cleared them with a grand slam homer that gave Wichita a 6-1 lead.

Following the grand slam, Tulsa starting pitcher Kyle Hurt saw one more batter before manager Scott Hennessey decided to turn to the bullpen with one out in the third.

Tulsa responded in the fourth with a leadoff home run from Imanol Vargas to make the score 6-2.

A throwing error helped the Wind Surge score a seventh and final run in the sixth inning. DaShawn Keirsey began the sixth with a single and quickly stole second base. Keirsey advanced to third on Carson Taylor's throwing error and scored on a single by Armani Smith to make the score 7-2.
