Drillers prepare for final home game
BEAUMONT, TX -- With the playoff seeding to be determined after Saturday night's game, the Beaumont Drillers (7-6) know they must beat the visiting Evansville BlueCats (4-9) in their final home game of the season to have any shot at playing in the postseason. The Drillers are in the midst of a two-game losing streak, with their last win coming on the road in an overtime thriller against Utah on June 5, winning 84-77.
Since, the Drillers have lost road games to Houma (74-66) and Lake Charles (59-41). The Drillers last home game was a good one, beating Lake Charles 48-28 back on May 28. The Drillers are 4-2 at home this season as the BlueCats come in with a 5-game losing streak. Evansville has been competitive throughout the year, defeating playoff-bound Show Me 88-84 in St. Louis and Atlantic South's Division champion Houma, 51-49 also on the road.
Kickoff is set for 7:35 p.m. inside the "Oil Palace". Tickets are on sale now at the Civic Center Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations.
Pre-game festivities start at 1 p.m. as Gusher and the gang begin tailgating in the main parking lot of the Civic Center. Fans of all ages are encouraged to attend and enjoy food, fun and more.
