Tulsa Drillers News Release
The opening game of a four-game series between the Tulsa Drillers and Arkansas Travelers was postponed Thursday night. Rain and lightning in the North Little Rock area forced the decision.
Rain began to fall at Dickey-Stephens Park about two hours before the scheduled start. The game was eventually called shortly after 8:15PM, over one hour after the scheduled start. It will now be played as part of a doubleheader this Saturday (July 18) with the first game starting at 5:30PM.
The two teams will now begin their series Friday night with a single game that will feature a pitching match up of Jhoulys Chacin (7-6, 3.43) for Tulsa and Tommy Mendoza (6-4, 3.38 ERA) for Arkansas. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10PM.
