
Drew Omicoli hat trick leads Danbury to 7-0 win over Muskegon

DANBURY, CT--Sly Daigle stopped 31 Muskegon shots while Drew Omicioli finished with six points including a hat trick as Danbury crushed Muskegon 7-0 on Wednesday night at the Danbury Ice Arena before 2,433 at the Danbury Ice Arena.
Drew's first goal was the lone goal of the opening period, scored on the power play at the 12:51 mark. The Trashers then erupted for four second period goals, two from Mike Omicioli, who finished with five points, one from Shawn Collymore and the final one from Alex Goupil at the 16:54 mark.
Both third period goals were scored by Drew Omicioli, the first at 2:05 as he knocked in a rebound shot by Mike Omicioli, and the other on the power play at the 13:08 mark.
Kevin LaPoints saved just 27 of 34 shots in the loss for Muskegon, who continue to lead the UHL Central by one point over Kalamazoo. The Trashers improve to 35-13-10 and are 10 points ahead of Adirondack in the UHL East Division.
Danbury returns to the ice on Friday at 7:30pm on the road against Kalamazoo and on Saturday at 8pm against Quad City at The MARK of the Quad Cities.
