New York Dragons News Release
The New York Dragons have locked up DS Dahnel Singfield through the 2008 season after agreeing to a two-year contract extension. Singfield, a rookie in 2006, led the defense in interceptions with seven for 132 yards and also recorded 63.5 tackles, nine pass breakups and two touchdowns.
Singfield was nominated for one of the AFL's 2006's Top Plays. You can find the video of Singfield scoring a touchdown after Georgia botched a lateral in the Wild Card round of the playoffs at the link below.

Singfield was also one of 11 players in the AFL named to the All-Rookie team this season. Singfield was originally scouted by Dragons' head coach Weylan Harding while playing in the af2 for the Memphis Xplorers. He led the league with 12 interceptions and was named its Defensive Player of the Year in 2005.
"He already had successes this year and the more he matures as a player, the better his production will be," said Harding. "If he makes the improvements he needs in this off-season, he'll be a good one going into next season."
