
Destroyers to hold open tryout June 24 in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Destroyers will hold an open tryout at the Columbus FieldHouse from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 24. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. Participants will have the opportunity to display their talents to the Destroyers' coaching staff with a chance for a Training Camp roster spot on the 2007 team.
Players interested in participating in the tryout will want to visit www.ColumbusDestroyers.com to access the pre-registration form. Cost is $65 (pre-registered, registration form filled out and faxed in before June 21) and $75 (walk-up, registration form filled out at the door on June 24).
To pre-register, completed forms need to be faxed to Destroyers Director of Team Operations Matt Tremblay at (614) 246-4300. All participants will pay in cash only at the door. Only cash will be accepted. Cost will include a Destroyers t-shirt.
The tryout will consist of a 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, bench press, vertical jump, position drills, one-on-one drills and group drills. Dress for the tryout should be t-shirt, shorts and shoes worn on an indoor FieldTurf surface. All participants must be 18 years or older.
