Dragons and WING AM Extend On Air Relationship

DAYTON, OH- The Dayton Dragons and Radio-One, Inc. announced the extension of the pair's on air relationship through the 2007 season Thursday afternoon at Fifth Third Field. WING AM 1410 ESPN Radio will continue to be the radio home for the Dragons, carrying all 140 regular season games plus all Dragons Midwest League playoff action.

"The Dragons are pleased to continue with what we feel is an outstanding broadcasting relationship with Radio-One and WING AM," said Dragons President Robert Murphy. "Being associated with the number one brand in all of sports broadcasting, ESPN Radio, has been and will continue to be a great vehicle for our organization."

The 2005 season will mark the Dragons third on 1410 ESPN Radio, which became the home of the Dragons beginning with the 2003 season. The extension of the on air agreement with the Miami Valley's team and Radio-One will push the number of Dragons broadcasts on 1410 ESPN radio to close to 700 games by the time the current deal expires at the end of the 2007 season.

The Dragons open the club's sixth season on April 7, 2005 against the South Bend Silver Hawks at Coveleski Stadium in South Bend, Indiana. Opening night coverage begins at 7:00 PM with the pre game show and a 7:30 PM first pitch. The 2005 home opener for the Dragons at Fifth Third Field is April 12th against the defending Midwest League Champion West Michigan Whitecaps. The first pitch for the Dragons home opener is slated for 7:00 PM and will be the 700th regular season game in franchise history.
