Dayton Dragons News Release
Dayton, Ohio-The Dayton Dragons will open their 11th season in the Midwest League on Thursday, April 8th against the Lansing Lugnuts at 7:00 p.m. at Fifth Third Field. The Dragons announced their 2010 Entertainment Highlights today.
Team Facts
The Dragons have a 704 consecutive game sell-out streak at Fifth Third Field (every game in their 10-year history). This is the longest sell-out streak in professional baseball history and the second longest sell-out streak in professional sports history.
The Dragons were featured in a 2007 Sports Illustrated article detailing the "10 Hottest Tickets in Sports." The Dragons were number 10 on the list, joined by such teams as the Washington Redskins, University of Duke Basketball, and the Detroit Red Wings.
The Dragons have led all of Single-A baseball in attendance for each of their 10 seasons of operation.
Fifth Third Field was selected in 2009 as the seventh best ballpark in all of Minor League Baseball by Baseball America.
Dragons Entertainment Highlights, 2010
The Dragons' mascots, Heater and Gem, return for every game during the 2010 season. Our other mascots, Wink and Roofman, perform at select games.
The Dragons popular on-field hosts, Donald and Madison, are back again. Additionally, our "Green Team" orchestrates a variety of hilarious family-friendly skits on the field and in the stands during games. They brainstorm for new skits prior to the season and rehearse the skits in the afternoons prior to games. The Dragons promise many new on-field skits, scoreboard videos, and entertainment acts with a family-entertainment theme.

The high schools are able to provide their own PA announcers, cheer squads, national anthem singers, and some schools even bring their own radio broadcasters to the ballpark. Participating high schools sell Dragons tickets to help raise money for their programs.

Food and Drink
Fifth Third Field offers a delicious selection of ballpark food items including hot dogs, hamburgers, polish sausage, brats, Italian sausage, chicken sandwiches, pizza, nachos, burritos, tacos, and BBQ. You will also find pretzels, peanuts, popcorn, and cracker-jack, as well as ice cream, lemon chills, sno cones, chocolate malts, funnel cakes and Dippin' Dots.
If you take all the hot dogs, brats, and sausages that will be sold at Fifth Third Field in 2010 and lined them up end-to-end, they would reach the length of 167 football fields.
Did you know that more Dippin' Dots were consumed at Fifth Third Field in 2009 than at any other professional or college sports venue in Ohio. The total was the third highest of all Minor League ballparks in America.
