Downing Recalled by B-Sens

The Elmira Jackals announced on Wednesday that forward Jack Downing has been recalled by their AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Downing, a rookie, scored 11 goals and added eight assists for 19 points in 25 games with the Jackals in 2011-2012. He recorded an assist on Monday night as Elmira defeated the Reading Royals in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals to advance to the second round of the 2012 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The 23-year-old from New Canaan, Conn. has posted nine goals and eight assists for 17 points in 45 contests with the B-Sens this season.

Prior to turning pro, Downing skated four seasons at the University of Vermont (NCAA, D-I), accumulating 35 goals and 28 assists for 63 points in 144 games from 2007-2011 with the Catamounts.
