Dow Diamond Ranked Among Best Minor League Ballparks

MIDLAND, Mich. - Stadium Journey Magazine released its annual ranking of Minor League Baseball stadiums Tuesday and Dow Diamond was placed at No. 9 on the list. The publication, which rates stadiums and arenas in a wide variety of sports both domestically and internationally, gave Dow Diamond 4.4 stars on its five-star scale.

"It's an honor for Dow Diamond to be recognized as one of the premier venues in all of minor league baseball," said Loons Vice President and General Manager Scott Litle. "We take great pride in providing our fans a unique entertainment and game day experience, and this recognition is a testament to all of our staff and partners who work tirelessly to provide that experience."

Stadium Journey rated 160 minor league stadiums overall and Dow Diamond was one of four Midwest League ballparks listed in the Top 20. Fort Wayne's Parkview Field was ranked first overall, while Dayton's Fifth Third Field was No. 12, and Quad Cities Modern Woodmen Park was ranked No. 20.

In describing Dow Diamond, the magazine said: "The stadium is beautiful, ideally located, comfortable, and unique. If you love minor league baseball, then you'll love your time at Dow Diamond."

Dow Diamond is one of two ballparks in the top 25 that are home to Minor League partners of the Los Angeles Dodgers. LoanMart Field, home of the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, the Dodgers Single-A partner in the California League, is No. 22;

In 2007, Dow Diamond was named the Best New Ballpark by Baseball Digest, as well as being named the Best Ballpark in Michigan by Stadium Journey in 2012.

Dow Diamond officially opened on April 13, 2007 and has welcomed over 2 million fans over the first eight seasons. The Loons 2015 home opener is scheduled for Thursday, April 9, when they will host the Fort Wayne TinCaps.

Within the park's specific review on StadiumJourney.com, Dow Diamond received an overall score of 4.4 stars out of five and earned its highest marks in the Food & Beverage, Atmosphere, Access, and Return on Investment categories.
