Dorados Send Two More To Arena Football League

Hidalgo, Texas --- The Rio Grande Valley Dorados of arenafootball2 (af2) today announced that OL/DL Tolifili Liufau and OL/DL Tony McClain have signed with Arena Football League teams for the 2008 season.
Liufau, 23, finished third on the 2007 Dorados with 9.0 sacks for 40 yards and 12.5 tackles for loss in 15 games. He recovered three fumbles for 59 yards including one TD on a 49-yard return, the longest fumble return in team history. He also had three forced fumbles and two blocked kicks. The 6-foot-2, 300-pound Honolulu native played college ball at Fresno City College and the University of Utah.
McClain, 25, is a San Marcos, Texas, native who appeared in seven games for the Dorados and made a quick impact, posting 10.5 tackles and 4.5 sacks while adding 5.5 tackles for loss and four fumble recoveries. His second quarter sack on July 7 at Laredo pushed the Dorados season total to 53, setting a single season af2 record for sacks. The team finished with 66. McClain (6-foot-4, 275 pounds) attended Coffeyville Community College and Auburn University. He studied physical education and minored in sociology at Auburn.
The team announced earlier this week that DL Quinton Staton has signed with the Orlando Predators. Staton led af2 with 18.5 sacks.
"As an organization, we are extremely proud to see our players move up to the next level," said Dorados Head Coach Marty Hammond. "We knew that after the season we had in 2007, Arena League teams would take a close look at our players. We tell them all the time that hard work and a commitment to excellence will eventually pay off and this week's signings are proof of that. I know Quinton, Tony and Toli will represent our organization well in the top level of Arena Football."
The Dorados finished 15-1 in 2007 and won the Southwest Division title. The team kicks off their fifth season in arenafootball2 at Dodge Arena in April of 2008.
