The Spokane Chiefs community initiative, Chiefs Care, helped raise $181,493 this season for local non-profit organizations including The Children's Miracle Network, The Wounded Warrior Foundation, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the Spokane American Youth Hockey Association (SAYHA). The Chiefs also donated more than $47,000 worth of tickets and memorabilia to community organizations.

"Our organization has always felt it is important to give back to the community that supports us," Chiefs Vice-President Mark Miles said.

Chiefs Care was created to help raise money and awareness for charities in the Spokane community as well help pay for the continuing education of Chiefs' players.

More than $30,000 worth of tickets was also donated by Runners Soul through the Runners Soul Community Ticket Program. Runners Soul helped facilitate the contribution of 50 tickets per game to families and charities in the Spokane area that normally couldn't afford to attend a game. The Chiefs also donated more than $17,000 worth of tickets and memorabilia to more than 250 organizations for fundraising events.

To help raise money for Chiefs Care, the Chiefs held several auctions, including the Xfinity Jersey off the Back Auction on February 10th. The auction helped raise $25,645 that will be used to help pay for post-secondary education costs for current and former Chiefs' players. For every year of hockey played with the Chiefs each player is guaranteed one year of post-secondary tuition and administrative expenses at a post-secondary institution of their choice. The Spokane Chiefs Booster Club helped raise more than $39,000 through the 50/50 raffle at all home games that will also help pay education costs.

SAYHA, Credit Unions for Kids and the Behind the Badge Foundation utilized a ticket fundraising program for their causes.
