Mississauga St. Michael's Majors News Release

Sudbury, Ont. (Friday, Feb. 23, 2007) - Former Majors forward Justin Donati came back to haunt his old club in Sudbury this evening as his hat trick propelled the Wolves to a 5-1 win. As a result, the Majors record dips to 18-38-2-1 on the year.

It was all Wolves in the 1st period as the home squad collected goals at 0:45, 15:06 (power-play), 15:33 and 18:29 to build up a 4-0 cushion. The goalscorers were Donati (2), Akim Aliu and Andrew Self, with the assists going to Donati, Self, Adam McQuaid (2), Nick Foligno, Devin Didiomete, Kevin Baker and Marc Staal.

Donati's hat trick goal at 1:15 of the middle frame made it 5-0 for the Wolves. This time, the helpers were credited to Baker and Jonathan D'Aversa.

Jesse Messier got the Majors on the board, with a power-play marker, at 16:20 with Matt McCready and Rob Kwiet grabbing the assists. However, the Majors couldn't get any closer.

Wayne Savage finished the night with 27 saves for the Majors while Wolves netminder Sebastien Dahm supplied 25 stops. St. Mike's was 1 for 6 on the power-play while Sudbury was 1 for 7. The game's three stars were Donati (1st), McQuaid (2nd) and Self (3rd).

The Majors finish the weekend by entertaining the Windsor Spitfires on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. Former Majors (and Leafs) great Dave Keon will be on-hand to perform the ceremonial puck drop. Mr. Keon was a member of the Majors between 1957 and 1960, tallying 170 points in 142 games. The Majors will be sporting their 10th anniversary, baby-blue uniforms that afternoon as well.
